Vanessa, I know you wrote this piece because you are obviously very pro tattoos & have some yourself. I know you & many other aren’t going to agree with what I’m going to say here. I think tattoos are a form of voluntary disfigurement & completely unnecessary. I think the more people have them, the more commonplace they become. They’re ugly & do nothing to enhance a person’s looks, in fact I think they detract from it. A beautiful woman wearing a wedding dress but tats all over arms – not a good look.

Obviously people can do whatever they want with their bodies, it IS their choice. However I keep hearing from people who have tattoos that they got one as a form of self-expression. I think that’s bullshit tbh because I think you can express yourself perfectly with your personality, clothes, hair, jewellery etc. I would hate if the first thing someone noticed about me was a sleeve of tats instead instead of my smile. (I think all tats look green from the distance anyway!)

So I’m definitely not on board with the whole tattoo trend & wouldn’t get one if you paid me. 😁
