I feel like I’m his equal partner this time. He listens and considers what I have to say. I don’t have to make myself smaller in front of him to puff up his ego. Instead, I’m my sweet, sometimes loud, occasionally annoying, inappropriately funny self in front of him, and he accepts me that way.
