My honest opinion? Medium is too big a platform for every writer to get the engagement they deserve. Lots of great stories get lost & are never read because they’re not distributed & featured on the home page. It’s actually very discouraging. I also notice that many people will follow you but they won’t read your previously published articles. The numbers of followers is useless unless these people are engaging with your work.

How many people would actually go directly to a writer’s profile to read their work? Very few I would say. If your work doesn’t feature on the home page, it just won’t get read.
