A lot of self-help advice out there is fine in theory but not in practice. Humans are NOT always happy & positive, it’s just not realistic. You can’t just ditch your friends when they start complaining about the difficulties & challenges in their lives. You need to be there for them just like they’re there for you. Positive people have bad days too & can suffer from depression. Why should your friends bottle up their negative emotions just to make life easier for you? Life means taking the rough with the smooth. In order to be a good friend to someone, you have to accept them as they are, even when they’re negative & complaining too. Friendship is give & take isn’t it? :-)
